Model ST Vacuum Oven

The Model ST is Georgia Oven's standard hot-wall type vacuum oven, utilizing long wavelength infrared to heat the vacuum vessel from the outside, absorbed heat is then reradiated to the product. Both sides, top, and bottom walls are fully heated in order to maximize heat distribution and uniformity. The Model ST has several temperature capabilities depending on configuration.

Standard Construction Temperature = 500° F (260° C)
with Door Cooling Option = 600° F (315° C)

Thermal loading of the ovens operating environment has been addressed by incorporating a top mounted draft inducer for the removal of convective heat losses produced by the heaters, maintaining the exterior at temperatures below 122° F (50°C). This draft inducer also assists the natural cooling effect of the vessel once the heaters have been shutdown.

Model ST’s are offered in three standard interior sizes which are constructed from a brushed finish 304L Stainless Steel .250-in plate, fully passivated, with other material grades available as options. Their unique gusseting and welding techniques give Georgia Oven vessels superior strength and integrity under high vacuum and high temperatures.

All Georgia Oven vessels are helium leak tested to 5.0 x10-7 Torr. Higher vacuum tests are available upon request. Standard exteriors are constructed from heavy gauge cold roll mild steel and powder coated, a customer selected color, for a long durable finish.

Model STX Vacuum Oven

The Model STX is an explosion-proof vacuum oven designed for the removal of solvents and other corrosive volatiles. Its 360-degree heating system is located outside the vessel removing it from potential ignition sources. To achieve its hazardous location rating we have constructed our housings to accommodate a safety pressurization unit which is approved by the NFPA and other world recognized safety organizations such as IEC, FM and UL. These pressurization systems are specified to handle your Class, Division, and Group ratings.  In addition to pressurization units we also use intrinsically safe barriers and isolators for externally mounted switches and lights.  We also promote the use of  nonincendive circuits and components within the system when possible.

The Model STX has a maximum temperature capability of 500° F (260° C).  However the STX maybe de-rated depending on the auto-ignition point of the solvent being processed.  Furthermore some features and options may not be limited or not available with certain flammable or corrosive substances in gaseous or liquid form.

All of our vessels are helium leak tested to 5.0 x10-7 Torr.  Our exteriors are constructed from heavy gauge powder coated mild steel with a stainless steel door and control faceplate implemented to assist in corrosion resistance.

The STX can be combined with one of our ambient pressure condenser units and explosion resistant vacuum pumps for easy solvent reclamation. Contact Georgia Oven Company for further details on this unique package and its extended capabilities.

We offer these ovens in three different interior sizes ready to connect to your vacuum system. All units are provided with our heavy duty support frames capable of housing vacuum and trapping systems.

Model HT Vacuum Oven

The Model HT is a Cold-wall type vacuum oven which means the heat source is located inside of the vacuum vessel. This form of heating utilizes medium wave infrared to uniformly distribute heat to the product load.

Georgia Ovens Model HT is comprised of two high strength vessels, the interior work chamber and the exterior pressure vessel.  The work chamber is constructed of a high oxidation resistant nickel alloy capable of enduring higher temperatures for long periods of time. The pressure vessel is constructed of stainless steel and features our unique proprietary pressure vessel design. The HT has an operating temperature of 1202° F (650° C).

Heaters are constructed of a unique quartz glass flat panel, specially developed by Watlow for GOCI not to out-gas or generate particulates in the work area. The Heaters are capable of watt densities up to 40-wpsi for applications requiring rapid heating

Georgia Oven's control system offers fully digital programmable time temperature and vacuum control. They provide a 6.00-in color touch-screen and PLC control system to fully automate and simplify programming and operator interface.

All of GOCI vessels are constructed for full vacuum pressures and factory leak tested to 5.0 x 10-7 Torr. Higher vacuum tests are available upon request. Our exteriors are constructed from heavy gauge cold roll mild steel and is powder coated, a customer selected color, for a long durable finish.

Georgia Oven also offers the most complete line of options and accessories for your system and or process, such as moisture and oxygen analyzers, sensor and process feed-throughs, shelves and fixtures, data loggers, inert gas preheating, and blower circulation.

Model CNX Vacuum Oven

The Model CNX is an explosion proof version of the conductive platen type vacuum oven.  Its energy source is either an electrically heated or oil heated platen or shelf.  The shelving units are typically constructed of either stainless steel or aluminum, depending on application. These ovens are primarily used in applications where high uniformity, control stability and rapid heating/cooling abilities are needed.  Temperature capabilities include:

Electrically heated Aluminum - 662° F (350° C)

Oil heated Aluminum - 392° F (200° C)

Electrically heated Stainless Steel - 752° F (400° C)

The Model CNX upgrades our standard CN design by using a purge system to blanket its electrical system from highly volatile gases or dusts during product processing.  Purge units X, Y and Z are implemented on our sealed housing system in accordance to NFPA 496.  The entire system is electrically constructed with all class and division rated conduit, fittings and Mineral insulated cables.   We also use intrinsically safe barriers, isolators and power supplies to further achieve Class & Division ratings and the highest of safety levels.

Oil heated platens feature ultra high uniformity and stability in multiple platen environments it also is capable rapid cooling when in-line tube and shell heat-exchangers are used.  Oil heated units come complete with pump, expansion tank, heater and all necessary control valves.  These systems are fully plumbed, wired and connected to operate in your  hazardous location.   Furthermore we can construct the oil heated systems with a break-out pumping skid which can be located in non hazardous locations which is then remotely interfaced to the oven unit itself.  This option is extremely cost effective and sometimes space saving for larger systems that are located in high-end floor plan space such as labs, clean rooms and dry rooms. We use only environmentally friendly thermal oils from Paratherm Corporation, which can be easily disposed of by proper local waste systems and waste management companies.

Electrically heated platens are individually controlled ensuring maximum uniformity and stability.  It also gives you the ability to set platens up to operate at different temperatures.  Electrically heated platens are easy to remove and clean, which make them ideal for high purity and clean room applications.  The number of platens in the chamber are specified by the customer and is usually determined by the minimum distance between platens.  The platens can be liquid cooled to promote rapid cooling and precision temperature control.  Cooled platens come fully plumbed and ready for operation and require a static drain for pre-heating platen purging.

The advantages of Model CNX include precision control, uniformity, and rapid heating & cooling.
Extremely effective in the following process:

1- Slurry drying involving solvents and acids
2- Powder drying involving solvents and acids
3- Plastics processing or degassing
4- Epoxy Curing
5- Pharmaceutical Processing
6- Medical Devices and Culture Testing
